How to Create new FX-Editor project (wizard).

A new FX-Editor project can be created by clicking Create a new project… in the start page of FX-Editor, under category ‘Develop’.

If a project is already opened, a new project can be also created through the Menu (File>New>Project).

A new project can be created in the existing FX-Editor or in a new window. The user will be prompted to choose where to create the new project.

Open in existing window, means that existing project(if any project is open) will be closed and a new will be created within same window.

By selecting in separate window, an new FX-Editor application will be started, with the ‘Create new FX-Editor project wizard’ opened.

The wizard consists of three steps: Project Information, Project Settings and Point Name Build Structure.

By clicking on Home, you will return to the FX Editor’s tart page.

Project structure#

Following folders have been created in the project library:

  • Sample AHU:

The root directory of this project with the name you specified.

  • Document:

The purpose of this folder is to store project related documents.

All content from the directory ‘C:ProgramDataFX-EditorDocument Default’ is copied to the project’s Document folder when a new project is created.

A default folder structure for the selected installation language is added to ‘C:ProgramDataFX-EditorDocument Default’ during the installation of FX-Editor.

  • Leaflets:

FX-Editor will make a copy device leaflets, if it’s available in database.

  • Fidelix:

This folder represents the fidelix folder in PLC with a few exceptions.

  • Bin:

The contents of this folder can be uploaded to the PLC or backup from the PLC bin folder and contents will be stored here.

  • Data Default:

Contents in this folder can be uploaded to the PLC and all files will be copied to this folder from “C:ProgramDataFX-EditorData” when a new project is created.

  • IECProg:

A new blank OpenPCS project will be created in a folder with same name as project root folder when a new project is created.

  • www:

Html/svg files are stored here and contents of this folder can be uploaded to the PLC. All files will be copied to this folder from “C:ProgramDataFX-Editorwww” when a new project is created. Backup from the PLC www -folder contents will be stored here.

  • symbols:

Symbol files used in html files can be stored here and contents of this folder can be uploaded to the PLC. Backup from the PLC symbols folder contents will be stored here.

  • Filters:

Importfilter files that has been used in the project will be copied from “C:ProgramDataFX-EditorFilters” to this folder.
